Little Fish In A Big Pond

This is me...and my thoughts randomly scattered for other people to read who find comfort in these random thoughts of others.

" I am an important person. I have many leather bound books...and...my apartment smells of rich mahogany."

Mom made it! I was just chillin here at work...BORED...and my little mom ( bright one) and lil sis walk in! Yay! Friends!

So anyway....me? Goings on? NOTHING.
I went and saw Nacho Libre the other night with a friend, and it totally met all my expectations! Jack Black is hilarious. Such a good movie! Not dirty or awkward or anything, just really really ridiculously funny! Go see it.

A thought while i was on the treadmill yesterday: I was running....i was almost up to 2 miles, when i was getting tired/ bored and i wanted to stop. Well, it just happened to be that someone in the gym was watching MTV - some stupid show about a boy that wasn't in shape but wanted to learn to play soccer. That was totally a good motivation for me! I think watching something like that really makes me push myself. Sometimes, ESPN even helps. I see those guys running around playing basketball, baseball, or soccer - it really kicks my butt into gear! Put on some NBA finals games and i'll be running for miles till its over!
(GO MIAMI HEAT! I KNEW YOU'D DO IT!)
My brain is so wierd...i don't know why those things help me!

So in desperate stomach agonization one makes rather rash decisions.
I for me it'd been about 12 hours since i'd eaten anything, so before work yesterday i just stopped at the first place on the way to work - McDonalds.
OKay, its been about 1 year since i've eaten any sort of McDonalds food. So i oredered somthing random - like a breakfast sandwichy thing....and i downed it...
Get to work...sick as a dog.
Bad McDonalds meat

"Come, Nadia, let us dance like children of the night!"

Confession: I'm at work right now...chillin....listening to the XM.....and I love love love the new Paris Hilton song....
She really shouldn't be singing....or breathing.
But the song totally reminds me of the Caribbean/Keys or something....its very summer
I know...I need to stop....i'm just feeding Paris Hilton's desire to be a singer/actress/goddess

ON ANOTHER NOTE
My roomie came home the other night...........................with her DOG! For a few minutes, i was really excited, simply for the fact that I'm not responsible enough to have a dog, but now i can play with it without the responsiblity!
No such luck
I wake up this morning to a THRASHED living room....the dog , Stinky, got into EVERYTHING.
Things I didn't even know we had in the apartment....like matches (?)
She was super excited that someone was awake....but as i looked around at the mess, i was disliking this dog more and more by the second.
She had tipped over a flower pot, and drug the flower across the floor, pooed everywhere, peed RIGHT where i decided to put my foot on the carpet, and tore the garbage apart.
Ew.
yeah....ew.
I picked it ALL up because he OWNER was at class this morning. AH! I Febreezed like a crazy person, and i vacummed all morning....then went to work.
Bad morning.
Then, on the way to work, my other roomie, Taya, calls me screaming....the dog just threw up in the cushion of the couch.
Dog= gone.
What's the deal with this dog!? it totally hates me. I'm scared for the well-being of my shoes.

AND....this week, i decided to go tanning....peachy....i love to tan....no problem.....but i haven't been tanning in a few months, and i went into a big ole bed with brand new bulbs....
Problem!

Yeah, i'm a little burnt, and i look like a man now...
Just kidding, that's not me, folks!
I can't wear a lot of my clothes, i can't sleep comfortably, and showering totally sucks..
Fun Fact: Don't fall asleep in the tanning bed....and don't tan in a Ruva bed

So, i'm burnt, living in a "Stinky" house....sad day.
Thats my piece for the day!
Have a good one, kids!

" Well..... I'm kind of a big deal...."

So, i haven't totally disappeared from the blogging community....i just have zero time!!!

Recent developments: none
Boyfriend: non existant
Friends: good, but hundreds of miles away in each direction
Family: not close enough, either
Job: 2 too many
Finances: not enough...

But ya know what! i did learn something new this week! i'm slowly but surely learning how to cook! Yep, it is DEFINITELY looking good for me now...
Working in an interior design environment, ou pick up a lot of copies of Better Homes and Gardens....which has a ridiculous amount of interesting stuff in it!! ( i'm so becoming an oldie)....
but really...the food all looks so great....i just look for things that aren't hard or expensive....or meaty...
SO....THIS one was called Tarragon Tuna Melt...mmmm
It was really good...and i made deviled eggs to go with it. very tasty. It does look a little burnt in that picture doesn't it? but i assure you, its the lighting...

I'm very excited, i've never been one to "cook" anything. i usually "burn" everything...as my roomates can attest.....i've been the only one to almost burn down every apartment either with a curling iron left on ( oops! happens all the time!) or me experimenting with chicken......

So, tomorrow night, i'm making dinner with a friend of mine, that i'm really excited to see.....its been a while and she's going through a lot right now....but i had this really good sandwich at Einstein's Bagels and i'm going to try to make that......we'll see......potentially disasterous.....but i still am in the "sandwich zone".....can't go too wrong with a sandwich..

anyway...updates on THAT one later....
XXOO

Things remembered....

So, these are some things from when i was little that i totally forgot about...but were some of my favorite things/things that scared me/ things i always had with me....

1. Does anyone remember Jellies? The little shoes that were made out of like....i don't even know....plastic, probably...but they were sooo FUN! I remember they had pink, red, blue, green, clear, clear with SPARKLES.....i loved those things! One night, my junior year in high school, i totally had a dream about them, so i det out to find these forgotten Jellies from so long ago. Yes....Yes...i found some...crazy, huh? They still make them, and in grown- up sizes! It was fate! I got two pair, in pink, and clear! CATO....thats where i bought them...i don't know if they're an east coast store, but yeah. So everytime i wear them, every girl stops me and is like..." Oh my goodness, i REMEMBER jellies!! Where did you get them!?".....crazy...

2. Dip n' Dots.
Okay, honestly! Where did all the Dip n' Dots go!? The last place i saw one was in the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago...if they only knew i look for them in EVERY mall and EVERY zoo, they would get so much business. I loved the Banana Split. Those little Dots were probably the 20th century's greatest invention. Whoever did that should get a gold star for helping mankind.
If anyone knows where i can locate the nearest Dip n' Dots, please let me know....i'm actually getting a huge craving now....

3. The original Nintendo Duck Hunt
Ohhh yeaaahh...we all remember Duck hunt. With the fantastically orange laser gun? That thing was so hard for me to do when i was little. You couldn't beat original Nintentdo, though.....what a great invention! and Super Mario Brothers? yeah....i sucked at all of these but i played all the time....until our Duck Hunt gun broke, which we still kept for years after....? i don't know

4. Those little stirrup pants!
Those were pretty much ridiculous...i don't know the point of them...to this day. BUT everyone wore them back in the 80's. Very wierd...and i have a very good question....where does the sock go!? Inside or outside? Outside seems terribly uncomfortable, but inside? a little odd, don't you think? And guess what....they STILL sell them. I'm sorry, but if you are still in stirrup pants.....GET OUT....NOW.....they will never be brought back....i hate to be the one to break the news.

5. I hate E.T.
I understand that he is supposed to be the helpless, cute, adorable movie icon of the 80's, but honestly....don't you see him!! That freakishly large head, BIG eyes, loooong neck, wrinkly brown body, and big feet. He scares me to this day. I know he's been through a lot....geesh...maybe i'd be scary landing on another planet. And he has a big heart, and sad story, but would you not FREAK out if you turned around and he was just hangin out!?? YEAH! AH! Pretty much i KNEW he lived in my closet. It didn't help that i had a closet that looked just like Elliot's closet in the movie....

Well, thats all for today, just reminiscing....i'm old...
but you're older!! HAHA
Have a good day, everyone!
